Through the years our school’s curriculum, from my first year proper until I graduated, influenced and prepared us for our board examination. (Dr. Shadi)
So, you are saying that CDU has helped you to be one of the top?
Yes. It is a proof that we can compete with top universities in the Philippines. (Dr. Shadi)
Before graduating, when you’re still on your last few months, weeks, or days as a student have you started reviewing for the board exam?My undergraduate study was a preparation in itself. But most of the time, I was reviewing on my own. (Dr. Go)
How many hours usually in a day did you study or review?
I usually study late at night until 6 or 7am. (Dr. Rivera)
Right after graduation, I spent 8hrs every day studying and reviewing. If you have developed a study habit you are comfortable with during college, continue with that until the board exam. What is important is how well you understand the answers to the review questions, not how many books or reviewer you have read. The key is to start developing your study habit early in your college. (Dr. Go)
Review the basics by heart. (Dr. Shadi)
You also have to prepare mentally and make personal sacrifices. (Dr. Go)
I told myself that I would really give my 101%. I think you really have to aim high. Pray for God’s will. (Dr. Go)
In my case, there was too much pressure because my sister also topped the Med. Tech. board exam. I have to be on the top. (Dr. Rivera)
I was reminding myself of the sacrifices done by my family for me all those years. So I decided to really give it my best. (Dr. Shadi)
During the review, you must have experienced some difficult times. How did you maintain a positive attitude?
My family and friends were there to support me all the way. (Dr. Go)
I pray more often and I call my family as well. (Dr. Rivera)
Pray, Pray, and Pray. Who can give you the greatest wisdom and knowledge that no books can? Only God. (Dr. Shadi)
What are some of the ways or some techniques that you can share for the current or for the future’s board examinees?Write your answers in a scratch paper and review them. If you are already confident, write your final answer on the answer sheets. (Dr. Rivera)
I use the process of elimination. (Dr. Go)
Prepare early. Study hard in college. You have to be physically and mentally fit. Eat healthy foods and vitamins. Be with friends who can help you achieve your goals. (Dr. Shadi)
While reviewing, share your knowledge with others. (Dr. Shadi)
Involve in a group study to augment what you learned. (Dr. Go)
Of course, don’t leave any questions unanswered. (Dr. Rivera)
