DODT Thai CDU Tour

Batch 2006 DoDt Thai students visit CDU. Thegroup of 8 DODT THAI Candidates or the Degree of Doctor of Organization Development and Transformation candidates, Batch 2006 visited CDU recently. The outstanding group learning team visited Cebu City for 4 days, 28 to 31 July 2005. The group boarded the PR731 to Manila with a connecting flight to Cebu. Although the scheduled flight departing 12:45 from Don Mueang International was delayed for 2 hours, the carrier Philippine Airlines, delayed the connecting domestic flight to Cebu City for 1 hour to accommodate the Group.
The Group was honorably met by the dean of the CDU graduate School , Dr. Leticia Reyes Sagun and husband, Ret. Collector Of Customs, Collector Attorney Rodolfo Almonte Sagun. The group arrived Mactan International Airport 1 hour behind schedule.

The group Checked in Days Hotel, had a late dinner and retired for the next days hectic schedule. The Batch 2006 learning group members who attended this Advanced DODT Seminar were: Doctoral candidates, Recently Retired Buriram Governor Thongchai and wife, Pechabun Vice Governor Preecha RoungJan and only son….., Phak ThaiRak Thai Trainer SupharbThongrat, TTV3 talk show host Sombom, Distinguished Department of Energy Organizational Development Trainer Sak Prasandee, Governors Office Research and Development Officer, Pechabun Province,Phrateep trakulsa, Thailand Automotive Association Development consultant, Tan, and View Corp. OD consultant, Abhirala.
Native Filipno Lunch @ Lighthouse Restaurant
In the Morning of the Thursday the 29th, they attented the CDU Deans lectures on DODT 107 followed immediate by an overview of DODT 107. After the morning lecture the group enjoyed a native Filipino Lunch at the Lighthouse Restaurant @ Gaisano Country Mall.
After the satisfying taste of native cooking, the group proceeded to pay respects to the miraculous image of the child Jesus, At the Basilica of the Santo Nino, or the Child Jesus, and learned a little history of the first roman catholic cross planted in Asia, about the history of the first celebrated Christian mass, and the Christianization of the first indigenous peoples conversion to the western Christian faith in Asia.

The next stop was the extraordinary Cebu landmark, the Taoist Temple, located above the capital foothills of the volcanic islands limestone mountain ridge which extends all through its 250 kilometer length, the Taoist temple is the regional center of invoking the favors for good fortune through the belief of the ancient eastern chinese Taoist faith and belief which significantly predates the Spanish religious influence, this auspicious temple constructed by the financially dominant and successful ethnic pre-Spanish Chinese immigrants to the islands, is a grand attraction to locals and tourist alike, it can be a mysteriously mystical monument demonstrating the strength of the mystical polytheistic eastern faith, or stands as a monument to the native Pilipino and immigrant Chinese coexistence that blend and enriched the unique culture and tradition that contribute to the unique diversity and rich color of the Cebuano Island life that we know today.
Relaxing @ Taoist Temple
The dinner that night was, of course, traditionally Chinese. The group celebrated a 9 course meal at the grand Majestic Restaurant, the best known authentic Chinese restaurant in the city. After the dinner, the group retired for the night to prepare for the next days lecture.
Dean Sagun’s Jul 29th Lecture for Batch 2006
Early The next day, the Dean's DODT 111 lecture promptly started at 9:00. The group discussion after the main lecture focused on discussing the details of applying the new tools, strategies and knowledge, to produce significant changes that will benefit to the organization. The excitement of the intellectually stimulating discussion naturally evolved to critically challenging the failure of the traditional organization practices and beliefs, its failures opened the student’s minds to seriously consider the effects and consequences of the loosing organizations decision failures, and its overwhelming responsibility to immediately put into effect, sound and valid developmental plans into actions, crucial and successful organization changes that will ultimately cause revolutionary and socially acceptable reforms that will finally, bring to result, the productive transformation that will potentially improve its peoples and all of the organizations members lives.
That lunch, the group ate at Krua Thai, Banilad Town Center Branch, Cebu’s latest opened franchised branch of the KruaThai Restaurants. After the meal, the group some members of the group went to the newly opened Hilton Hotel at Mactan Island, while the rest of the group went to Shop at Robinsons where Dr. Kanokwans favorite south island pearls shop, where some the students got very good bargains for souvenir gifts they could proudly take home.
Departure back home to Bangkok C.U. Back Soon in CEBU Batch 2006
The group boarder the domestic flight on time from Cebu to Manila, the PR 730 filght leaving Manila for Bangkok departed on schedule as well. The candidates said enjoyed their short stay very much, They will be back to Cebu to defend their dissertations sometime October 2005.
