Facilities

The Restorative Dentistry area is by far the largest room, with a total of twenty-four (24) chairs, where students can do dental fillings, render endodontic treatment, perform oral prophylaxis, and occasionally, perform prosthodontic works such as: crown preparations for full crowns and fixed bridges; and do mouth preparation procedures for removable partial dentures.

Sinks are interspersed in between dental chairs. Highly sophisticated state-of –the-art equipment are also provided by the school for the use of the students, with six (6) light cured machines, six (6) glass bead sterilizers, an electronic apex locator, the latest rotary endodontic machine coupled with THERMAFILL TM machine for fast and complete root canal obturation.

Prosthodontic department is located on a corner with two (2) long tables and numerous stools. A cast trimmer can be found at the back room where students can modify and enhance their casts.

Separate lockers are provided for senior and junior clinicians for their use. The dental infirmary has also an x-ray machine and a developing/fixing rooms located across each other. And in between, an autoclave machine capable of sterilizing all the students’ instruments to ensure infection control and asepsis.

The two (2) classrooms on the second floor are constructed in such manner as to permit performance of simulated crown preparation and cavity preparation on phantom jaws mounted on the tables with a high-pressure compressed air outlets providing the necessary air for the students’ portable high-speed units.

One of the prosthodontic/restorative dentistry laboratories is provided with three (3) dental simulators, which provides the student a feel on simulated dental set-up while performing a dental operation/treatment. Each simulator contains a control unit with hookups for two hand-pieces and a two-way air-water syringe, a plastic phantom head with an articulator and support rod, and a water collection container to evacuate water from the high-speed hand-piece. Separate lockers for the sophomores using the classroom are provided also.

A large air-conditioned lecture classroom is located on the fourth floor.
