Admission
Students are admitted on the basis of their individual qualifications, regardless of sex, religion, or race. CDU, especially the College offering a certain course offering, requires evidence of general competence, motivation, and capability. Aside from grades and test scores, preference shall be given to those who are properly motivated evincing an interest to learn, and have consistently demonstrated a genuine concern to follow CDU’s standards.
Aspirants or applicants for admission to CDU must complete all forms, submit all required credentials, satisfactorily comply with all requirements, and pay the tuition and other fees. No contractual relationship shall be created, and CDU is under no obligation to entertain any applicant or aspirant, if a student fails to comply with the admission requirements.
The University has the right to select those who apply, and the prerogative to refuse admission or readmission to any student whose qualifications do not meet the University’s standard. The status as admitted and enrolled is compromised if the student evinces a conduct or attitude not to abide with or reject CDU’s policies, rules, and regulations. CDU’s buildings or facilities are solely for its bona fide students and those who fail to qualify shall be barred entry.
Once enrolled, students are issued student’s load. The student’s load must not be tampered with and should be presented to the instructor on the designated first day of classes. Failure to timely present and surrender the student’s load may result to enrolment default or absences since attendance begins on the announced first day of classes. Students are admitted in a class upon presentation to the instructor of a validated class card.
The College of Dentistry grants the privilege of admission to the applicants who successfully meet the criteria set by the Admission Committee. The Dean of the College and the Admission Committee have the right to deny acceptance to any applicant who does not meet the criteria specified.
No student can enroll in a subject in which the pre-requisite subject(s) has not been taken and passed. Satisfactory completion of all First Year and Second Year subjects must be obtained before enrolling in the Junior Dental Clinics. Completion for all Third Year dental academic requirements must be obtained before enrolling in the Senior Dental Clinics. For students enrolling in Clinical Dentistry, strict compliance in the clinic rules and regulations is required.
